PCM Biometric Registration

Requirements to complete the Prospective Corps Member biometric registration process

Digital Persona U.are.U 4500
Required Hardware: Only the Digital Persona U.are.U 4500 fingerprint scanner is approved for biometric data capture. No other scanner model is supported by the NYSC portal.

Option A: Browser Capture

No Longer Supported
  • Java Runtime (version 6–8) must be installed for online biometric capture.
    Download: Java 7  |  Java 8
    Upgrade to Java 8 update 60+ if you encounter a Live Connect error.

  • Java 8 update 60 minimum is required across all supported browsers.
  • Download the Digital Persona driver for your machine: 32-bit or 64-bit. Install before use.
  • If errors occur, verify Java is enabled in your browser: Enable Java  |  Security Settings

Option B: Desktop Client

Recommended
No additional software or licence is required. The desktop client handles full PCM registration including biometric fingerprint capture.
If you see the error "Get the updated version", uninstall the existing application completely and reinstall from the site.

Passport Photograph Specifications

  • Face (eyes, nose, ears, mouth and jaw) must be fully visible without bending
  • Picture must fill the frame and be centered
  • Background must be white or off-white only
  • Environment must be well illuminated
  • Passport size must be 2×2 inches
